2020 Volkswagen Tiguan Repair

The Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the most under appreciated vehicles on the road today. It’s advanced all wheel drive system, functional design, and digital cockpit make it one of the most fun and futuristic family SUVs on the market.

This Volkswagen Tiguan repair was important to the owner as it was the main means of transportation for the family, and was only five years old. The damage was minimal but would require a high attention to detail and experienced installation for it to be restored to like new condition.

After the initial inspection, it appeared the damage was mostly cosmetic. That did not mean the technology inside the damaged parts would not be time consuming to replace.

From parking aid sensors to parallel parking assist sensors, the rear bumper contained many critical technology features that would need to be reset. Furthermore, the blind spot monitor and rear traffic alert radar modules would need to be recalibrated. For those in the know, the parking sensors have a decoupling ring that must remain on the sensor head during removal and installation. It’s a small detail, but an important one.

In addition to the rear bumper assembly, the rear body panel needed to be replaced. This is another piece that houses important sensors critical to the operation of Volkswagen’s driver assist technology.

Once the rear bumper assembly was replaced, we repaired the lift gate. When our technicians had finished restoring it, it was off for final inspection from Matt and Mike. (It passed!) This Volkswagen Tiguan repair was complete.
