The Chevy Trailblazer debuted in 1999 as an upscale trim package on the S-10 Blazer. In 2002, it was launched as a standalone mid-size SUV and won North American Truck of the Year. Production for the U.S. market ended in 2009, but was resurrected in 2021 with a sportier body style and budget-friendly price tag under $25,000. It’s no wonder the Trailblazer is still a driver’s favorite, or why this 2023 Trailblazer RS repair was important to the driver.

2023 Chevy Trailblazer RS Repair

After being rear-ended, this Trailblazer arrived at our shop with significant exterior damage. Everything would need to be replaced, and our team was ready to restore it back to pre-accident condition.

Every piece matters when it comes to collision repair. The bumper covers, lift gate, and rear body panel must align with everything around it to create a smooth, seamless appearance.

First, we removed the upper and lower bumper covers, rear body panel, and left quarter panel. These had been completely destroyed upon impact. This allowed us to remove the power lift gate. In newer vehicles, these contain sensors and cameras that must be replaced and recalibrated. They also have an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that receives signal from the key fob. This is no easy task.

We replaced the necessary panels and covers, ensuring a perfect paint match for each. After removing the OEM struts, we were able to install a new lift gate, routing the cables and connecting the ECU.

Once everything was in place, we conducted a comprehensive ten-point inspection. It passed with flying colors. After a thorough cleaning, this Trailblazer was ready to hit the trails again.
