2020 Acura TLX AWD Repair
When this Acura TLX repair showed up at our shop, we knew it needed some serious TLC. After a routine inspection, we determined most of the front end would need to be replaced.
We started with the exterior reapirs. This included the front bumper cover, hood, impact bar, headlamp, and grille assembly. The right fender required repair and refinishing. The left fender was blended. This means we applied paint to the adjacent panels so the new color naturally transitions into the old color. This technique prevents the repaired fender from looking noticeably mismatched.
Inside, the radiator and support needed to be replaced. This part always suffers with the impact in a front end collision. In addition, the a/c condenser needed to be replaced. This can be more difficult than it sounds. It requires evacuating the system and removing the front bumper, and disconnecting refrigerant lines. Now the TLX was ready for summer!
To ensure the vehicle’s safety systems performed exactly as designed, we completed pre and post-repair scans along with full calibration of the new front radar distance sensor. This would restore the TLX’s ADAS features to OEM specification.
Once all repairs had been made, a ten-point inspection and quick cleaning was in order. The car was cleared for takeoff.
